Our Story
Hi! We're Kerlin and Pille, two mums from Estonia and the people behind Rūķupaka. Between us, we have six children, so we know quite well what December looks like in a house full of excited little people. Christmas is wonderful, but as parents, we also know how much work goes into making it all happen.
We both love Christmas traditions, but we also like finding ways to make life a little easier for parents. And that's how this whole adventure started.
How It All Began
- Back in 2021, we were looking for a way to make December exciting for our children without having to come up with a new surprise for their Christmas stockings every evening.
We wanted something more interesting than just another piece of chocolate. So we started putting together boxes filled with little gifts, sweets, creative activities and letters from Christmas elves.
We called our idea Päkapikupakk, which roughly translates to Christmas Elf Pack in English.
At first, everything happened at home. We packed boxes at the kitchen table, stored products wherever we could find space and tried to keep our curious children away from all the exciting things filling up the house. It was a bit chaotic, but we loved it.
Meet Our Christmas Elves
Our children had always loved the little letters that appeared in their stockings, and that's how Priit and Piia were born.
Two Christmas elves who share stories about their adventures, friendships and everyday life in their magical elf village. You, of course, know them as Emils and Elza.
Over the years, their letters have become one of the most loved parts of Päkapikupakk.
Some children even remember the elves' stories from previous Christmases!
From Päkapikupakk to Rūķupaka
After five wonderful years in Estonia, Päkapikupakk has become a Christmas tradition for thousands of Estonian families. Some have been ordering our boxes from the very beginning, and seeing their children grow up with our little elves has been incredibly special.
Then we started wondering – why should we only share this Christmas joy in our own country? Latvia is right next door, so in 2026, Rūķupaka was born!
We thought that with five years of experience, expanding to another country wouldn't be too complicated. Well, we were wrong about that! There were products to adapt, personalised gifts to redesign, stories to work on and hundreds of little details we hadn't even thought about.
Our Estonian elves, Priit and Piia, became Emils and Elza - the same cheerful, slightly mischievous little characters, now ready to make new friends in Latvia.
And here we are! Päkapikupakk continues its journey in Estonia, while Rūķupaka begins a new adventure in Latvia.
A Little Christmas Magic, Without All the Work
Every Rūķupaka box contains 24 surprises and 24 letters from Emils and Elza, with gifts and activities chosen to suit your child's age.
Our idea has always been simple: children get 24 exciting December mornings, and parents get to enjoy those moments without having to plan every little surprise themselves.
