How did Rūķupaka begin?
If you've ever secretly slipped a gift into a Christmas stocking in early December while your child slept, and wondered why on earth the “magic” of the Christmas season so often overwhelms the parents – it all began with two ordinary mums who wanted something more for their children than just a chocolate calendar. Something that would turn the whole of December into a true time of anticipation. Something that would fill every day with a little excitement and warmth. And, well, to be honest, it was also a bit of a cry for help: “Could someone please get these surprises ready for me?” 😅
And that's where the idea was born. Rūķupaka. Along came Emils and Elza, our very own elves, who send 24 gifts and just as many personal little letters to every Christmas stocking. Children love letters – especially when their own name is in them, with a story written just for them. A pack that would be like a little magical helper for all parents who want to create a memorable Advent for their children but don't always have the time (or energy) to do everything from scratch themselves.
✨ The first steps
At first it was just an experiment. A few packs, a bit of crafting, lots of joy and… even more logistics. But it worked! The children were thrilled, the parents even more so. When the first planned packs disappeared from the online shop in a week and a half, it became clear – this had to become something bigger. And so the small venture slowly began to grow. More orders, more ideas, more creativity every year. But the heart stayed the same – every pack is made with care, love and the sparkle in a child's eyes in mind.
🎁 What makes Rūķupaka special?
It's not just a box of things. Every pack is a personal experience : carefully chosen content that suits the child's age exactly, separate versions for boys and girls, and a daily spark of joy together with an elf letter. We don't make these packs on an industrial scale. We don't want to. Because then it wouldn't be the same. We want every child to feel special and every parent to be able to say: “This year, December was simply… wonderful.”
💫 Today Rūķupaka is much more than just a Christmas calendar
It is an experience. It is a traditionthat families look forward to. It is a childhood memory that lasts. We now have packs for everyone from babies to adults. Because let's be honest, the magic of Christmas shouldn't end with childhood. And although we have grown, every pack still feels like the first. Every letter, every gift, every emotion – we feel it together with you.
